WPCandy’s Login Logo Plugin

I had a few minutes at Starbucks before a client meeting yesterday so I decided to tackle the next plugin on my idea list. With the Login Logo plugin, you change the logo on WordPress’s login screen to an image of your choice via a simple options screen.
It’s pretty much a simple two-step process. First, you upload the desired logo with the built-in (meaning framed) uploader. The dimensions can’t exceed 290px by 100px or it’ll get chopped off.
Finally just copy and paste ...

Reblogged via WPCandy - The Best of WordPress

Small Business Premium WordPress Themes Gallery

Yesterday we took a look at some of the best news and magazine premium WordPress themes. Today I wanted to take a look at another area of the premium WordPress themes market, this time focusing on the themes being designed specifically for small businesses in mind.
Some small business premium WordPress themes are created with very specific businesses in mind, while most can easily be adapted to just about any small business that needs a content management system or business blog ...

Reblogged via Hack WordPress

Improve Your Blog with WordPress Functions

Do you find you switch WordPress themes a lot? If you do, Chris Pearson has taken the time to write a great post about using WordPress functions to ease the transition between themes. The idea is to put all your design elements in one file and then move the file over to your new theme every time you switch, saving you the time of re-coding the specific elements you like to see in your blog’s theme.
In his post, Chris provides the functions file to get you started, teaches you ...

Reblogged via Hack WordPress

I’ve updated my Projects page, which was missing quite some stuff and should now be up to date and not missing any of the stuff I’ve coded in the past few years. Hey, this page is starting to give me a little warm feeling of pride ;)

As I mentioned in a previous post, one of the things Hack WordPress is most known for is our WordPress theme galleries. Because of this, we have worked really hard to maintain them by both adding new themes as they are released, as well as removing older themes that are either outdated, are no longer available, or are no longer supported by their authors.
One of the most common requests I get via our contact form is to break apart our galleries into more of a niche focused display of ...

Reblogged via Hack WordPress

As you might know, weblogtoolscollection just started their WordPress Plugin Competition 2.5.
The WordPress Plugin Competition is in it’s third incarnation targeting the 2.5 release of WordPress. Last year the contest generated some great plugins like Who Sees Ads, WordPress Automatic Upgrade, MyDashboard, and the grand prize winner, OneClick. Now that it’s happening again this year, the WPCandy team thought about entering the competition, winning the prize and giving it to our ...

Reblogged via WPCandy - The Best of WordPress

StayPress was announced yesterday (and pimped by none other than Matt Mullenweg), and it looks promising. In the words of the creator, Barry:
StayPress is a collection of plugins that will turn a standard vanilla installation of WordPress or WordPress MU into a property management and bookings system. Of course when I say Property, I actually mean any bookable resource of which there is a finite availability. So the StayPress system will be able to manage property rentals, hotel room rentals, ...

Reblogged via The Blog Herald
